THE ART OF DOING NOTHING. OR ONLY THE THINGS YOU WANT. PROBABLY INVOLVING A BATH & WINE & ALSO CHOCOLATE.

I want this pink clawfoot bathtub. Tub goals.

I want this pink clawfoot bathtub. Tub goals.

At the moment it's one of those days where not only myself, but my two faves (my Better Half as well as my Mini Me), we're all having kind of an eff of a day. We just can't. None of us.

I have a handful of other blog posts drafted about other health and beauty topics, but my goal with the blog here is to be 100% authentic with you guys.

So on some weeks, for example this week, when blog time rolls around the blog is still going to be posted but it's gonna be the most genuine stuff that's coming up for me on the day specifically.

I'm not writing for a magazine or a newspaper. You're simply going to get me and what's happening and what I'm doing about it. Because every day should be about trying to be balanced and being happy or getting to happy. Every. Single. Day.

For me today, it’s just about trying to get myself into a good mood. And to me personally, getting ones’ self into a better frame of mind and within a happier perspective is most definitely related to health, beauty and wellness.

Right now it's the afternoon on a most dreary, crappy and rainy day here in the Scottish countryside. I made the husband and myself a nice little lunch followed by some chocolate and some wine and now I'm soaking in the bath (with more of the wine) (red wine with ice - yes, I do ice in my wine. I learned it decades ago from two elderly French ladies that I adored - also I just like it, and furthermore it keeps you hydrated as you drink your wine, so there is another health beauty wellness element right there ). I’m also thinking I might do a face mask while I'm in here.

It's been a tense time at work at my other job this past week, just a lot going on, and now that things have calmed down and I'm home today, I should be all chilled out but I cant seem to settle . I couldn't even deal with the idea of pulling out the mat and selecting a yoga DVD.

Today basically turned into “what's gonna make you feel better, cheer you up, maybe put a smile on your face , settle the mind a bit” sort of a day.

So it ended up being about making some much craved and very scrumptious egg salad sandwiches on fresh ciabatta rolls, having that iced red wine I mentioned above, and followed by an attempt at getting some stuff done. Then I arrived at the obvious conclusion that I was going to get nothing else done, so I hopped into this bath. The remainder of today is a chill the eff out day.

Im here to tell you that some days you just have to stop trying to go go go.

If I wasn't in the bath I'd be finally tackling some of the books I've been wanting to delve into, or I'd be scouring Kodi or Netflix looking for a fun fluffy laughter inducing movie while intermittently raiding the kitchen for something naughty and delicious. As I write, I'm 100% aware that I'll be doing some or all of this stuff later :)

So to me that really is the epitome of health, beauty & wellness. Finding your stuff that makes you feel better on that day and in that moment. If you can, just stop everything else. Even for a little while. I believe the Italians call that “The art of doing nothing. “

Side Note: If you happen to be at work for the day, or you have other commitments which you cannot escape, and you're feeling like utter crap, try your best to stay away from other people, especially negative ones. Or at least avoid conversations that bring your energy level down. Try to focus on something that makes you happy, maybe grab a cup of tea or hot cocoa or a little savory / sweet snack, something you seriously enjoy, and get to your happy place in that way.

It really is all about getting to your happy place (Or at least you're happier place).

Just remember to be kind to YOU.

Okay thanks for stopping by today, and have a nice rest of your day or night wherever in the world you may be.

Tara xx
