LIFE IS ART.
SO. NOT. BEIGE.
This cushy, colorful chair came to us in stark naked beige. We blasted it with textile spray to give it more joie de vivre. We also repurposed pallets and utilized spray, chalk, and metallic paints to create a backdrop wall and hide a printer nook.
“’I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.’”
To achieve whatever look we’re after, we always have supplies on hand from these trusty suppliers…
Rust-Oleum Chalk Paint (Furniture, Walls, Floors)
Vintro Paints (Matt & Eggshell)
FAIRYTALE POWERED WHISKY
This ornate antique apothecary cabinet was given a metallic golden backdrop and a splash of color. It displays whisky, tumblers & nosing glasses, curios, art, and a wee collection of vintage hardback books & fairy tales.
CAPTURED AT OUR BEST
Repurposing whisky barrels & painting furniture.
TRUST THE PROCESS
It’s better to wear gloves, but painted hands happen every so often.
TWO JOBS
This vintage gramophone cabinet is living its best life as a butterfly bedazzled ship stand. Being near our wood-burning stove, it’s perfect for an important secondary job… hiding back-up kindling & wood-wool fire lighters which help us keep that fire burning through the colder seasons.
CAST IRON TUB & RAISED BED DRAWERS
This Victorian tub was re-upcycled for a new life housing flowers and foliage. We also had a vintage vanity that didn’t survive the move home. We salvaged the drawers, drilled drainage holes, doused them inside and out with generous helpings of yacht varnish, and two little raised bed planters were born.
