BETTINA. MY INSPIRATIONAL NANA.
For my first blog post, I thought I would write about a lady that totally inspired me. She not only helped to spark my interest in art, nature, and alternative thinking, but she also sparked my interest in making and doing spa beauty remedies at home, with natural ingredients from the kitchen. These “kitchen spa treatments” were such an obvious early in life inspiration behind the Beauty Apothecarist range.
So just a little shout out to that lovely vintage lady you see in the leopard print coat. That’s my Nana Bettina back in New York in her early twenties. She was born before her time, doing things like legally changing her first name back in the 1950’s, just because she wanted to. She got up at 6am every single morning to meditate, which I thought was so odd back as a kid in the eighties. She was a prolific painter, a nature enthusiast, a woman who loved to watch episodes of Golden Girls while doing craft projects with her grandkids, and she was a woman who was such a wonderful and unforgettable inspiration to me.
Love you Nana. Tara xx
