BENEFITS OF THE “HOLY TRIO.”
COCOA BUTTER (theobroma cacao): Is high in fatty acids, giving it the ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture, so it is perfect for dry skin. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals, as well as being rich in oleic acid, palmitic acid, phytosterols & polyphenols and active compounds with anti-microbial properties. Some people also find it helpful to use cocoa butter to relieve common skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis.
SHEA BUTTER (vitellaria paradoxa): Has high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins, making it an ideal ingredient for skin softening. It also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties, and it’s conditioning, toning, and soothing. Other benefits include moisturising, heals burns and relieves sunburns, skin strengthening, antioxidant, protection against free radicals, eczema & psoriasis relief, fades dark marks and scars, restores skins’ elasticity, calms irritated skin, relieves joint pain, stimulates collagen production.
COCONUT OIL (cocos nucifera): Has antimicrobial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Medium-chain fatty acid constituents of coconut oil including lauric acid, capric acid, and others provide the antimicrobial effect by disrupting bacterial, fungal, and viral cell membranes, leading to cell death. It’s extremely moisturising and it offers relief for dry skin, psoriasis and eczema, as well as other lesser known dermal infections.
